The goods – this is a content managed site running a MySQL/PHP system I wrote custom for this application. Nearly every bit of content on this site is available through the CMS interface, and Amber (pictured below) at FMS has complete control of nearly the entire site. There are a few interactive elements and only one Flash element, for which there is a javascript alternate for iOS users. The folks at FMS service the banking industry and one of their top priorities was ensuring a consistent user experience – no matter the device or age of software on it. With that in mind I developed the site around a 960 CSS grid system. I’m happy to report the site looks the same everywhere, on anything. Phones, tablets, pcs, iphones, ipads, Android browsers, whatever.

Who’s next? Well – Bank of Tullahoma’s new site rolls out next….but after that – maybe your site?

We’ve got several web sites rolling out this month. There’s FMS4banks.com updated/new site, Marcole Enterprises new site launch, Southern Community Bank site update, and Barnett Orr Marketing Group’s new site launch. Two of the sites are CMS sites so I’ve been doing a lot of programming. I designed one of them, and the rest were split between two designers I have great respect for. I designed all of the backend and programming tier application stuff though. And implemented the sites. Or rather, am implementing the sites now. I’ll post links after they launch.

In the video world I just finished a commercial for a bank in the Tri-Cities TN market. it was a 30 second spot, concept by my pals at FMS. Mostly animation and sound design for me, a Motion 4 project. Its airing now I think. I’m currently in proofing stage on a branding video shortened from around 3:00 to 1:30, a more challenging task than you’d think. However since software is all bad ass these days it wasn’t too bad cutting up and moving things around in both the video animation and audio files. Next up for that client is a 30 second version of that video.

In the photography world I just did a fun shoot for an unofficial Make A Wish outing. Family and friends gathered to share an afternoon on the lake with Zac Amos. I tagged along and offered as many free photos as they’d let me take. We all had a great time, hosted by Chris and Dessie Bostick (Carnival Kia) who made everyone feel right at home. I ended up with hundreds of photos they all seemed to enjoy. Also in photography is of course motocross, which is nothing if not HOT as hell lately. ! But we’re selling prints, digitals and posters more and more lately. Shooting motocross is rockin.

Past that stuff, I’ll be getting into SMS marketing this fall I think with one of my clients. I can’t say much more than that about it. I can say however that I’l probably be working with Tim Miller from Sumotext to start bringing SMS campaigns to some of my clients.

Sanity is found between the cracks. Good thing my wife is super hot, super cool and works at home too. We have a good time here in Harperland.

Next up will be the motocross track. Hehe.

With offices and manufacturing facilities in Nashville TN and Manchester TN, Wilcas has been manufacturing wire harnesses, terminals, power cords, etc since 1972.

Wilcas came to limitedwave:productions to get a web site makeover. We’ll be glad to help get these guys a web site that’s as technically cool as their assemblies are! We’re still planning but I’m pretty sure their new site will not only look great, but will be built upon some serious HTML 5 components, grid css architecture, and the finesse of yours truly.

Web
This fall has the balance of power shifting back towards web work…though there’s been no shortage of video work really. I have one super-sized web build on deck for FMS rebuilding their own site, a decent size web build for a Nashville marketing agency in the works, and I’ve been approached on another site for a manufacturing company in middle TN about setting up their web presence. So it looks like three good web projects will be spanning Q1 and Q2 of 2011. A great way for the web side to start off in my second year of full time Wave riding.

Audio / Sound / Music
I had the opportunity to compose the soundtrack for a promotional video for Infiniti USA. That was a great project in several ways…I’m a car enthusiast (Nissan 350Z) and this video was to promote the 2011 Infiniti Performance Line G Couple – IPL is new for Infiniti for 2011, and they produced a 5 minute track and helicopter laced spread to welcome the new high-performance ride to their already bad-ass lineup of vehicles. So it was cool to write music for a video that was actually interesting to me! Second – it was quite challenging to write this piece because the video was already cut. Infiniti didn’t like the music the video was cut to, so I had to replace it. It was difficult…I had to match tempos…some loops worked, some didn’t, it was an experience. Third – who doesn’t like working with a national brand from time to time right?

Video / Motion Graphics
I get a lot of motion graphics work from my pals at FMS. This fall has brought a steady stream of projects, from simple type based animations to 3D compositions and all of them have had custom compositions from yours truly for music. I’m working on several that should be going up on various Youtube channels soon and I’ll post those links when I have them.

Affinion Group, who laid me off years ago appeared on the Wave this month in the form of a product promotional video. One of my old friends needed some good work fast, and gave me a call. It was a great fit, as I work on lots of financial industry stuff…and we rolled out a great little piece in like 2-3 days.

I also have two new clients on deck for some video work that I can’t mention yet…too bad.

For this production I have to match the sound of current Infiniti branding and commercials. Since the video edit is already near final, I had to bring the video into my Digital Performer workflow and extract some tempos and mark changes.

After the program was mapped out I began selecting a palette of sounds that would fit the project. I turned to Stylus RMX as usual for the foundation, the beats. Then it becomes a Native Instruments extravaganza! Several Absynth and Massive synths, along with MOTU’s Symphonic Instrument to seal the deal.

Thanks to the flexibility of Digital Performer I was able to embed  the video edit in my timeline, and so far the project has been as smooth as glass. I’m fast hitting the limit on this iMac’s CPU however!
